Description

Fast-use, solvent-based impregnator contains silicone, ideal for the protective treatment of natural stone.

Product for the treatment of both shiny and natural surfaces of stones such as granites, marble, etc. Specifically for black or dark absorbent stones, intensifies the natural colour of the stone, allows to mask the streaks, defects and imperfections of the black/dark stone.

IDEA DARK has optimal penetrability and does not form any film on the stone surface and lets it perspire. It does not leave the surface yellowish, and is ideal for the treatment of stone either on the outside as on the inside; it resists the effect of water and dirt.

Transparent protector used for the protection of buildings and made of stone, against the penetration of water and moisture. Ideal also for shiny materials, let the stone perspire, block the exit of efflorescence, penetrates deep, particularly intensifies the dark or black coloring of the treated material; it does not create any unesthetic film. Laboratory tests demonstrate the UV resistance of the product. Prevents mold formation.

Mode of use

Preparing the media: The surface to be treated must be clean, dry and free of waxes. The stone to be treated should not have salts (sulfates, nitrates or chlorides) as its presence would reduce absorption. Any stains, molds and fouling should be removed prior to application, as it would be difficult to remove them after application of the product.

Apply IDEA DARK without diluting it, using a brush, roller, cloth or or with a nebulizer. It is advisable, where possible, to apply a brush, as it allows for a better penetration of the protector; in this case apply IDEA DARK by exerting a slight pressure on the brush, so that the product penetrates well in cracks, corners and holes. Apply the required amount until full absorption. After 10-15 minutes, remove the excess amount of the product with an absorbent cloth. During application and drying, the substrate temperature should be between 10 and 30°C. In case of application on floor with underfloor heating, switch off the heating and allow the stone to cool completely.

Usage tips

It is advisable to apply the product up to a complete saturation of the stone.

On highly absorbent materials, it is advisable to apply the product 2 times within one hour of the first application.

Do not dilute the product with other solvents or water as soon as the preparation is ready for use.

The material to be treated must be completely dry.

Another application system, suitable for small parts, can be by immersion; it is even possible to use a sponge impregnated with product and plug the material.

Once treated, the lapideo material should be allowed to dry for at least 24 hours in order for complete polymerization to take place.

In the case of treatment of statues, vases or decoration items on the outside, pay close attention to the intersticios.

Before use, carefully read the recommendations on the label and make a preliminary test.

Product performance

For the protection of marbles and bright or polished granites beyond the 800 grain, with a lt. Of product can be treated 15/20 m², whereas in the case of limestone, sandstone, marble / polished cement with the same finish, the performance may be slightly lower. Treatment of absorbent stones or rough finish may require increased use of the product, with an indicative yield of 10 m2.
